Before you go
Fees, access, and what people get wrong here.
- One fee covers both monuments, connected by a 35-mile scenic loop road off Highway 89.
- Climbing the Sunset Crater cinder cone itself has been prohibited since 1973 to stop erosion.
- Wupatki sits lower and much hotter than Flagstaff. There is almost no shade at the pueblo.
