Before you go

Fees, access, and what people get wrong here.

  1. Entrance fee covers seven days. Open all year, unlike the North Rim.
  2. The park is cashless. Bring a card, and note that non-US residents pay an additional per-person fee.
  3. Free shuttle buses serve most viewpoints and some road sections are shuttle-only in peak season.
  4. The rim sits near 7,000 feet. Expect to feel the altitude, and expect snow and ice on rim trails in winter.
