Fees, access, and what people get wrong here.
- A day-use fee applies at the developed recreation sites around the lake.
- Forest Road 300 is closed to vehicles by snow from roughly November into April. Confirm the gate is open first.
- Elevation here is near 7,500 feet. Afternoon monsoon storms arrive fast and lightning on the rim is a real hazard.
