Before you go

Fees, access, and what people get wrong here.

  1. The Lower Cliff Dwelling trail is a paved one-mile round trip with about 350 feet of gain, short but steep.
  2. The Upper Cliff Dwelling is only reachable on a ranger-guided tour, roughly November through April by reservation.
  3. The dwelling trail closes well before the visitor center: about 4 p.m. from September to May, and at noon from June through August.
